Criterion releases are subject to licensing agreements made with a film’s owner.
Our Licensing Process
Licensing is done on a tile-by-title basis. It can sometimes take years to get the rights to release a film. We cannot work on a home video release unless the film’s owners grant us the rights to do so. We aim to announce 4 to 6 new releases each month.
Out of Print Titles
When we mark a title as Out of Print, it means we no longer hold the rights to release the film despite our best efforts to renew the license. We will notify you if we renew the rights to an Out-of-Print title.
